Stimulus didn't help? Headed for deeper recession!
Trilions of dollars put in world recovery seem to have disappeared in black hole. If more are poured in, more will disappear as we are not addressing the real problem.
Let us look at my post of 26th February 2009 - http://www.khadayataonline.com/blog/roshanshah/recession-not-going-away-...
It seems to make sense - isn't it?
I think the problem today has compounded as there are far less job opportunities, everyone is asked to become an entrepreneur, there is no govt support, people working harder, inflation increasing cost of living by unimaginable standards, floods everywhere causing havoc and huge losses, increasing crime rates and overall depression everywhere. To make matters worse, healthcare costs are rising and even when people have money there are not enough doctors available in the world to treat everyone without long waits!
Solution?
1) Tax Sops and No Tax so Small Businesses
2) Cut Salaries of Sr. Management by 35% (Make it a law) and use savings to create jobs
3) No dividend distributions by any company for 3 years
4) Reduce C-Level exec perks by 1/10ths of what they get
5) For a global task force to start putting value to Knowledge Capital. i.e How do you value 1 hour of time of a knowledge worker v/s carpenter v/s 1 hour of work done in assembly?
It will take us a decade to work on 5) but it must be done - till then the global economy has to find a way to really stop growing and just be as-is.
Why can't everyone working even think of affording a house today? This was not the case a decade ago. Globally and especially in developing countries the challenges are even more. Governments are taking ostrich approach assuming the problems are not there but housing, household goods, essential commodities are all expensive.
And God save India - Indian Ministers have got 300% hike in Salaries when world is trying to fight recession. Now wait till all Govt departments asks for hikes i.e Govt employees, bank employees, army officers, etc and India will soon be a bankrupt nation! People may just stop paying taxes!
